Hui He, the famous Chinese soprano, will be the heroine in the Aida of Verdi in the new production at the Teatro dell’Opera in Roma choreographed by the Belgian and film-makerMicha van Hoecke, ad conductedb by Jader Bignamini. Already in April 2011, she had been the Aida in the production that opened the 74th Florentine Music Festival in May under the baton of Zubin Mehta. The soprano is very popular for her Madame Butterfly which opened the 2006/2007 season of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and its New Year Concert in the Hall of Parliament in Beijing.
The Aida will be staged end May and Hui He will be alternated by Csilla Boross in the upcoming performances of 28th and 30th April and Sunday 3rd May who will replace Maria Pia Piscitelli. Strongly desired by the Superintendent Carlo Fuortes and by the management of the Foundation, the show has taken its inspiration from a production that the Director had designed for the open spaces of the Terme di Caracalla, but which is now being staged under a new new version adapted specifically for Costanzi. Under the baton of the conductor Jader Bignamini, a new focus has been given on the human aspect of the characters exalting their feelings and psychology. The event will also host on stage the chorus of the Teatro dell’Opera and the Corps de ballet.
