Wind, heavy rain and hail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in Pakistan. The death toll is 44 and more that 200 wounded people. The Minister of Information reported it underlining that the area was badly damaged, and many buildings collapsed.
The population is used to this kind of weather during monsoon season – June and July – therefore, everyone was surprised. Flights in Peshawar are suspended because of heavy rain forecast. The Pakistani army has already sent rescuers in the area but roads are flooded and covered in debris and it is difficult for them to act.
The national weather forecast announced it as a “mini tornado”, the wind many trees fall and antennas are starting to fall apart. In Peshawar, there were 29 victims and 152 people were wounded. Torrential rain damaged fruits and grains, hitting one of the main economic resource of the region.
