Starting from Monday 18, the work of the third meeting of the Inter-religious Board for Integration, will take place at the press room of the sacred convent of Assisi, two days will be dedicated to issues of interfaith dialogue, integration and discrimination in the presence of representatives of the different religious confessions. The event has been organised by the Sacro Convento in Assisi and the national Office of the Departmentof Racial non-discrimination equal opportunities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (Unar). Opening press conference of Monday, 18, will be attended by the On.Biondelli, Undersecretary to the Ministry of labour and Social Affairs with responsibilityfor integration; Father Mauro Gambetti, keeper of the sacred convent of St. Francis of Assisi and Padre Enzo Fortunato, Director San Francisco Magazine.
At the round table, scheduled on Monday afternoon, representatives of the different religious faiths present in Italy will discuss the importance of knowledge of religion in schools and in education. Present, among others, Abdallah Redouane,Secretary-General of the Islamic cultural centre of Italy and the Grand Mosque, MariaAngela Falà, vice President Italian Buddhist Union, Rav. Joseph Arbib, the Jewish community of Rome, and Svamini Hamsananda Giri, vice President of the Hindu Unionitaliana. Also attending Prof.Francesca Cadeddu, representative of the Commissionon pluralism, freedom and the study of religious sciences at the school of the Ministry of education, universities and research; Cons. Ermenegilda Siniscalchi, head of the Department for equal opportunities and the Cons. Marco De Giorgi, Director of theUnar.
On the second day, Tuesday, May 19, we will continue with the Conference “at the table with religions.
