Goes to auction in New York on “Vase with Daisies and Poppies” by Van Gogh

It was painted by Vincent Van Gogh a few weeks before his tragic death and it is one of the few paintings that the artist managed to sell. Its value is estimated at 30-50 million dollars and  November  4, on the occasion of the Evening sale of Impressionist & Modern Art in New York, will be auctioned by the famous Sotheby’s London home. “Still Life, Vase with Daisies and Poppies” is a composition that gives off strong explosive energy, emotion and sensitivity typical of the creative genius of Van Gogh, made at the top of his short, intense career.

According to co-director of the Department of Impressionist & Modern Art, the painting “is a vibrant composition that captures the full intensity of the artist at the height of his illness. Still Life is preserved in the same private collection for more than two decades, which makes it even more interesting for the international collectors. “As the opening of the autumn auction, therefore, will be presented to collectors around the world one of the most representative works of the life of a tormented artist.
