The Archdiocese of Milan has been spread the program of Pope Francis’ visit in the Lombard city on March 25.The Pope will leave Rome-Ciampino airport at 7:10 am. The arrival in Linate is scheduled for 8:00. Here he will be welcomed by the Archbishop of Milan, Cardinal Angelo Scola, and the institutions. First stop, at 8:30 am, the white houses of Zama and Solomon street, in the parish of San Galdino, where Bergoglio will visit two families. At 9:00 am, on the square, he will address a brief greeting and he will meet representatives of the residents families, Rom, Islamic and immigrants.
Then moving by car towards the Duomo, arriving at 10:00 am. In the Gothic temple he will be welcomed by the auxiliary bishops, archpriest and the Metropolitan Chapter. In the Cathedral he will travel in the “scroll” of San Carlo, which is a small but precious octagonal chapel, built in 1606 by Francesco Maria Richini, in which there are the remains of St. Charles Borromeo inside a rock crystal and silver coffin. Here, the Pope will stop for the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and veneration of the saint’s relics. Then will follow the meeting with priests and consecrated persons, the greeting of Cardinal Scola. Therefore, the Pontiff will answer some questions of the priests present. At 11:00 am greetings to the faithful in Duomo Square, he will recite the Angelus and he will bless the assembled pilgrims.
Then, the transfer to San Vittore prison, where at 11:30 am he will greet the management staff and the Prison Guard officers, he will meet with the prisoners and he will go into some of the cells. At 12:30 am, in the Third ray, lunch with 100 prisoners. At 13:45 pm, the Pope will leave the prison and he will travel by car to the beautiful park of Monza, where, in the former hippodrome, he will cross the various departments that divide the area, greeting the faithful. In the sacristy area he will be welcomed by local authorities and he will have a brief meeting with the concelebrating bishops and the organizers of the visit. At 15:00 pm it will begin the celebration of the Eucharist, after which the Cardinal Scola will tell his “thanks” to the Bishop of Rome.
At 16:30 pm the last stage: Meazza San Siro stadium where, at 17:30 pm, he will meet the chrismated boys, parents, godparents, and the catechists, answering a few questions. At 18:00 pm, the Holy Father will leave the Stadium to reach Milan-Linate airport, which is scheduled to leave at 18:30 pm. So at 19:30 pm landing at Ciampino airport and return to the Vatican.
