“If I have to be a political leader, I will be one. My commitment is full-time. I want to win the elections and prove that we can govern Turin, Rome, Livorno… despite the mistakes we have made. We need this history. Yes, I am back. I had made a small step back, but yes, I came back. We miss Gianroberto Casaleggio, but I am back” – said Beppe Grillo, leader of 5-Stars Movement gathered in Palermo, in a passage of his long speech in which he touched on several points: Rome’s mayor Virginia Rays to the rejection to host the Olympics in 2024, to the Executive Board, to a new regulation that will allow to appear on TV only those party members, who will have to talk about a topic of their program.
“We are in the first stage of a big experiment. There will be a second stage, which we will inaugurate tonight – said Grillo, hobnobbing outside the Posta Hotel to joke with the reporters -. Next week, we will release a regulation. Will appear on TV only those who will have to talk about a topic of our program. You will appear on TV based on the programs.”
As to the Olympics, he stressed that the negative decision was taken by the mayor of Rome: “We were slightly unprepared, it is a complicated city. Turin is fine, but it has 900 thousand inhabitants – said Grillo -. A few of adjustments are necessary, we are now settling down, but the lady is the one who makes decisions. She is able to take any decision”.
