Bombs are raining again on Aleppo: for the second consecutive day, Russians and the Syrian government have been carrying on a massive offensive against the neighborhoods of the city that are still controlled by the rebels. Government sources say that the death toll has risen to 90 people in less than 24 hours. There are many children among the victims.
Besides, during the offensive, several civil buildings were hit and the local civil defense denounced the destruction of three of the four centers of the organization. The National Observatory for Human Rights in Syria (Ondus) reports that during one of the raids west of Aleppo, were killed 12 members of the same family, including six minors.
The Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Aleppo announced that at least thirty neighborhoods had been bombarded by Russian and the Syrian government aircrafts. He also said that the continuous raids are preventing rescuers from intervening to help injured civilians. Moreover, the latest bombing destroyed the emergency health services and underground shelters used by Syrian citizens to protect themselves from the bombs.
More than six thousand people, mostly Isis militants, have been killed in two years of raids conducted by the US-led coalition in Syria. It was reported today by the National Observatory for Human Rights in Syria (Ondus), which contains a detailed toll: 5,357 out of the 6,213 dead were jihadist militiamen; the remaining 611 were civilians.
Of these, 163 are children and 90 are women. In the Coalition raids were also killed 90 Syrian government soldiers, all of whom died in the last Saturday attack in the east. The US has admitted its mistake. The bombing conducted by the Coalition killed also 136 al-Qaeda militants and 10 more fighters belonging to other Syrian armed factions.
