As time passes, rises also the number of the victims of the attack in Pakistan, where a bomb exploded inside the hospital of Quetta – in the Bulchistan region – resulting in the death of 93 people. According to the Islamabad media, the bombing today is the bloodiest ever to be realized in 2016. The issuer Samaa TV wrote that today’s explosion caused many more casualties than the Easter massacre in a Park in Lahore.
Meanwhile, the bomb squad, which is investigating the incident, confirmed that the blast was a suicide attack and that have also been used metal marbles to cause more victims.
According to local TV channels, the explosion occurred as a result of the assassination of Bilal Kasi, President of the Bar of Balochistan’s assassination. The man’s body had been transported to the Quetta hospital and a few minutes later.
Immediately after the attack on Kasi, in fact, some men broke into the hospital and opened fire on people inside, killing so many innocent people, including journalists and lawyers who had crowded on the spot. Among the journalists killed there would also be a TV cameraman, Shahzad Khan, whereas another Dawn News cameraman was seriously injured.
According to preliminary reports, it is probably a suicide attack, but investigations are still ongoing, said the spokesperson for the Balochistan government, Anwaar ul Haq. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack that led to “the loss of precious human lives” and ordered the provincial police forces to arrest the culprits. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
