To celebrate the special Jubilee dedicated to Mercy wanted by Pope Francis, a new street clinic has been  opened in Rome for the care and treatment of the most vulnerable social groups. Dedicated to Saint Francis, it was realized by the non-profit organization Voreco in collaboration with the Solidarity Health Association in the historic location of the Volunteers Regina Coeli, in Lungara street, in Rome. The center – entirely furnished thanks to  the donations received from Elemosineria Vatican – was inaugurated on December 21 and will be open every Saturday morning from 9.00 to 12.00. Inside, general medical service will be provided: basic medical care; vital signs; dressing; glycemic sticks; besides, every secondWednesday of the month, it will be used as a listening center and a center of psychological guidance.

The collaboration between Voreco – a voluntary organization that deals with marginalization connected to the prison world – and the Solidarity Medicine Association (committed to providing assistance and care to many weaker social strata such as the poor, ex-convicts, immigrants and homeless people) has given origin to the idea of this “Street outpatient clinic” exactly in the “Voreco Center”, located near the Regina Coeli prison. The services of the outpatient clinic will be provided by volunteer doctors and students of the Policlinico Tor Vergata.
