The American president Barack Obama has formally given a mandate to his administration to prepare the suspension of US sanctions against Iran due to the nuclear agreement of July 14. “It is an important milestone,” said Obama, “an important day for the path that leads towards preventing Iran from producing nuclear weapons, by ensuring that their pacific nuclear program can proceed” explained the president of the US. The so-called ‘adoption day’, respected by the USA, comes 90 days after the approbation by the UN Security Council of the agreement of July between Tehran and the 5+1.
Also the European Union adopted the legislative framework for the removal of the sanctions against Iran due to the nuclear agreement concluded in July. It was announced by the head of the European diplomacy Federica Mogherini. The revocation, in any case, becomes effective only on condition that Tehran complies with its obligations. “The EU – it reads in a joint statement of Mogherini and the Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif – adopted today the legislative framework for the withdrawal of all the economic and financial sanctions related to the nuclear dossier”. It recites that it is “an important step” in the application of the July agreement.
