The men of the Caliphate seem to have arrived at the gates of Aleppo. It was announced by Rami Abdel Rahmane, director of the Syrian Observatory for human rights. “ISIS has never been so close to the city of Aleppo, this is their most important advance” towards the Syria’s former economic capital, explained the executive. According to several sources, ISIS managed to chase some of the rebel groups of the opposition at the end of violent armed clashes that occurred during the night and lasted until dawn, from the localities of Tall Qrah, Tall Soussine, and Kafar Qares, but especially from the base of Madrasat al-Mouchat which had been in the hands of the rebels since 2012. “Dozens of fighters on both sides were killed,” said Abdel Rahmane. After the conquest of those positions, the self-styled Islamic State is currently about twenty kilometers away from Aleppo, “on the front line with the troops of Bashar al Assad’s regime”, especially in the industrial area of Cheikh Najjar.
In the meantime, Paris announced that during the night between Thursday and Friday, French bombers carried out a raid against ISIS on the Syrian territory. “Two Rafale aircrafts released bombs on a training camp –. said Drian, the French minister of Defence, to Radio Europe 1 – The targets were centred”. The exponent of the French government attempted to unmask again the real goals of the Russian intervention. ”Moscow’s military actions have not been targeting Daesh for about 12 days now. Their priority goal is to preserve Bashar al-Assad’s security”.
