“I heard two Arabs talking about a bomb they put on the airplane. But the call received by the airport police in Turin was a joke. It was all made up, a lie said only for vengeance, but it has caused hardship and fear to dozens of people. This is what happened on Thursday evening at the Sandro Pertini Caselle airport: a 46-year-old Italian, decided to take revenge on Alitalia because it had not allowed him to take a flight before the one he had booked, called the police, saying that on the airplane that was going to leave at 19.10 from Turin to Rome there was a bomb. Thus the alarm went off.
The aircraft, an Alitalia flight from the Italian Capital, was already on the track, ready to take off, when all the passengers and the crew were asked to leave the plane in order to begin the controls, that have given a negative result. The flight programmed at 21, left two hours and a half later, at 23.30, fortunately without any bombs on board, but after having provoked tensions and fear among the passengers and the crew members.
The protagonist of this ”Italian style” absurd story was denounced for “procured alarm”: he spent the night under police’s surveillance and in the morning was able to leave for Palermo, where he was supposed to go for work. But not by plane, they inform from the police station. Besides reporting to the attorney general’s office, also the Ministry of Transport was informed. Now the arrogant traveller may be put on the “black list” of “passengers who are not welcome” and have to forget travels for some time.
