An unbelievable story: in Colombia, a young mother with her baby were found alive after five days in the jungle in the north-west of the country. Their plane had disappeared from radar shortly after the takeoff on June 21 while traveling from Nuqui to Quibdo, in the northwest of Colombia. The pilot of the Cessna was found dead in his cabin, but Maria Nelly Murillo, 18, and her five-month-old baby were disappeared.
Until today, when after five days the young mother and her baby came out of the thick jungle of Choco, where they had been running in circles looking for help. Here the vegetation is so dense and the area is so impervious that it is often used as a hideout by the Colombian guerrillas of the FARC.
Fortunately both are doing well: the child is completely unharmed, while the girl has only a few slight wound and burn. They were found by a group of 14 people, who for three days had been examining the jungle around the area of the crash, the cause of which is still unknown. Other people who were on board are still missing.
