Petro Poroshenko speaks about the Russian menace in Ukraine after the slashes between the army and the Pro-Russian rebels, which caused 24 people to die in 24 hours. He warned about an “enormous menace”that could lead to fightings in the east of the country; he asked the armed forces to get ready to defend the east borders from a possible invasion.
Poroshenko denounced the presence of more than 9,000 Russian soldiers in Ukraine, this could be the alarm of an escalation of violence in the country. Hence, he announced that in 2016, Kiev will invest more on the defense of the country. “Because of the presence of Pro-Russian terrorists, the menace is huge and hostility could burst any moment. Fourteen troops – added Poroshenko – composed of more than 9,000 Russian soldiers are in our territories. According to Ukraine sources, the number of Russians on the borders is increased of 1.5 in the last year. In addition, the “Rosvoyentorg” is still providing bullets, food, fuel and also “new weapons and military hardware”.
Meanwhile, during his annual speech at the Parliament, he declared that he is not satisfied of the work of the government and the parliament, because “people are not satisfied of our work”. He has also said that the help of the IMF and other international organizations – as EU and USA – “helped the country avoiding what seemed to be unavoidable” and it help stabilizing the country’s economy as they paid wages and retirement funds without delay.
