Dennis Sheehan, the U2 tour manager was found dead at Sunset Marquis Hotel in Hollywood. The famous Irish group itself announced his death. According to authorities he died for natural causes. “We’ve lost a family member, we’re still taking it in. He wasn’t just a legend in the music business, he was a legend in our band. He is irreplaceable” said Bono on the group’s official website.
Sheehan has been with the U2 for about 30 years. Arthur Fogel – CEO of Global Touring and Chairman of Global Music at Live Nation., which organized the tours of the band – confirmed the news and commented it, ““With profound sadness we confirm that Dennis Sheehan, U2’s longstanding tour manager and dear friend to us all, has passed away overnight. Our heartfelt sympathy is with his wonderful family”. This is the second loss within a few weeks, on May 12 Larry Mullen’s father died at 92 in a private hospital in Dublin.
Just two days later, the rock band started the “Innocence & Experience Tour” in Vancouver. The tour will travel around North America until July 31st and in September it will fly in Europe. The first European show is in Italy, there will be 2 shows in Turin.
During their first show in Canada, not everything went well as the guitarist – The Edge, the legendary – misplaced his foot as he was walking in front of the audience of Rogers Arena in Vancouver, he fell out of the stage, but fortunately, he was not injured.
