Ehud Olmert, former Israeli Prime Minister, was condemned to eight months in prison for fraud and abuse of power. The Court of Jerusalem proclaimed the verdict on Monday because he accepted a bribe from the American Morris Talansky. In 2014, he was sentenced to six months for corruption. It seems that many million dollars moved illegally to finance building projects.
One of these projects concerned the construction of a building that would have modified the laws about zoning, so that people working on the project would have had many benefits. The former mayor of the city Uri Lupoliansky, the former president of the bank Hapoalim Dan Dankner, the former chief of staff, Shula Zaken were condemned too.
Olmert was head of the government from 2006 to 2009 and he was forced to resign for the accusations that ended his carrier.
