An officer in New Orleans was killed in his car as he was patrolling his duty area. The reason of the murdering are unknown. However, America is shocked for the fight between officers and Afro-American population, and this may be an act of revenge.
The policeman killed on Sunday morning, was part of the Housing Authority of New Orleans, which is the branch in charge of fighting criminality in urban areas where the risk is higher. The victim was 45 and he was in the car of the police. “It was a coward action,” said the mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu.
Investigators are trying to understand whether it is an act of criminal revenge or not. Retaliation is most likely. This murder is very similar to the murder of two police agents in New York who were killed by a black man who wanted revenge for the violent actions of officers towards minorities. The murder of the officer in New Orleans happened a few hours after the slashes in Cleveland, which were due to the discharge of a police officer who killed a disarmed Afro-American in 2012. This circumstance make officers think retaliation is the reason.
