The seventh studio album by Muse to be released soon, it is produced with Robert John “Mutt” LangeIl and it is called “Drones”. It is a rock opera denouncing alienation of individuals in this technological era. Three singles were taken from this album Psycho, Reapers and Dead Inside. “Drones represent human in their time of weakness, they risk being used and abused by political and religious powers until they become robots” said Matt Bellamy – singer of English group – during the press conference in Milan. He also added that this album might become a film or musical.

“To me, a drone is a metaphorical psychopath that allows psychopathic behavior without appeal. Drones dominate the world using drones to transform us all in drones. This album analyses the voyage of human beings, their loss of hope and their feeling of abandonment, indoctrination to make them human-drones and the ultimate defection by oppressors – said Bellamy, and continued – there was a time when all sorts of bad things happened to me, and I avoided feelings just like the protagonist of the album. During those times, I risked becoming a drone, but projecting everything inside let ideas pour out shaping songs”.

For the Festival Rock in Rome, on July 18th, the MUSE will perform in Capannelle the new songs. On fall, the worldwide tour will begin, it will be based on ‘Drones’ and the performance may focus on (peaceful) drones. During their carrier, the MUSE sold more than 17 million albums around the world. The last album “The 2nd Law” was released in October 2012 and it reached the top charts in 21 countries; for example, in Italy and in the USA, where they reached the charts for the first time taking the second place.
