The paramedical was hospitalized in Sassari and waited for the results of the analysis, which confirmed his fears. Hence, it was necessary to transport him to Rome, in the hospital specialized in infective diseases. Here, last November, the first case of Italian Ebola was cured; the patient was Dr Fabrizio Pulvirenti who also worked for Emergency.
The identity of the male nurse will not be revealed because of privacy for him and his family. Before Pulvirenti’s case, the aeromedical of biocontainment transport system was used for 10 missions across the nation. The first case was in 2006, a patient who suffered from contagious tuberculosis resisting every medicament. Other patients were moved, suffering the same kind of tuberculosis, hemorrhagic fever of Congo-Crimea, Dengue fever, and finally, Monkeyprox on June 2014.
