Revolution: this is the theme chosen for the tenth edition of the International Literature Showcase “Le Conversazioni”. Antonio Monda and Davide Azzolini founded it, and the stages will be in New York, Rome and Capri. For the tenth edition there will be great special guests; as in February, when the festival was launched at the New York Historical Society. The director and script writer is Jonathan Demme and it opened on May 7th, when Morgan Library – protagonist, NY – Joyce Carola Oates – writer, USA – and Stephen Sondhei – great composer.
Next location is Rome, at the Salone degli Arazi, from June 15th to 18th. Four days of meetings with Antonio Monda – artistic director of the Film Festival – and some of the most important personalities in the field of literature and Italian film.
Finally, the festival will move to Capri, where there will be international guests and it will last two weekends from June 26 to July 5, in Piazzetta Tragara. It will then fly back to the States for the last events in December (1st, 2nd and 15th); it will be at the New York Historical Society and Morgan Library. The 10th edition will end on December 15th with a special meeting in Guggenheim Museum.
The festival arrived in South America too, in Columbia, during the “FILBo Feria Internacional del libro de Bogotá”, where on May 1st there was the event “Le Conversazioni” with the French writer Philippe Claudel. This was the 28th edition of the Columbian International event and it was dedicated to the magic world of Macondo and to Gabril Garcia Marquz, the great Columbian writer who died recently.
The tabloid “10 Years of Le Conversazioni” will be released during the tenth exhibition; it will contain testimonies of many protagonist who attended the festival since its first edition in 2006. In addition, as every year, in Capri will be published and distributed to the public a collection of unreleased works dedicated to the theme of the year. Writers will publically read their works at the opening of every event.
