Disembarkation overnight. About 300 migrants rescued yesterday in Calabria, they were on a fishing boat that was going to sink. Migrants were brought in a ship of the coastguard and the fiscal police. They appeared to be healthy, although worn out because of the trip. There were just some serious health issue.
The fishing boat was spotted yesterday afternoon thanks to a Frontex plane. The boat was left there because it was impossible to carry it since it was slowly sinking.
Migrants arrived in Sicily too: 675 in Augusta and 197 in Catania with 5 corpses. According to Save the Children, 40 migrants more lost their lives at sea. Today, in La Spezia 424 migrants should arrive, 179 will be sent in the north of Italy, in Piedmont, and 245 in Liguria. Within the next months, 88 migrants should be sent in Genoa, 50 ion Savona, 37 to La Spezia and 70 to Imperia”.
It is now important to trace new shelter houses to face this difficult situation, which is the outcome of a humanitarian crisis in Africa and in Middle East. The Minister of Interior decided that every city has to cooperate in searching for new shelter houses for migrants”.
