Surprise concert for whoever was moving in NYC yesterday around Grand Central Station. U2 took the attention of pedestrians away from their daily routines. More than once the band improvised free live concerts. The Irish band was in the city to record the episode of Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Photos and videos on social networks show Bono and his companions performing ‘Angel of Harlem’, a 1988 song that was in the album “Rattle and Hum”. The leader of the group was wearing an unlikely blue hat, and Larry Mullen created a drum set with some plastic cans.
This is not the first time that the big band of rock surprised fans with concerts. Last December Bruce Springsteen and the U2 played in Time Square on the International Day against HIV. In May 2014, the Dubliner band performed in “La Osteria di San Jose del Cabo” in Mexico. Clients were very surprised watching Larry entering the restaurant, going to the drum set and playing on his own. Within some minutes Edge reached him and then Bono came and they played ‘Desire’.
