Nineveh Oberoi is not only the most elegant hotel of Mosul, but of the entire Iraq. The opening ceremony took place last Friday and to celebrate the inauguration was the Caliphate himself, who reopened the building after it had been closed for 10 months because of the continuing conflicts in the region. The Jihadists have taken over changing the name of the Hotel in “Waritheen” which in Arabic means “successors” (of Prophet Muhammad). It was then that the Isis, in renovating the hotel, have turned it into an occasion of celebration with the families of the city. Something quite unusual when you consider the work of destruction carried out by Islamic extremists.
On social networks close to the terrorist organization, in fact, several photos of the evening had been posted where you could see children playing in the large garden surrounding the hotel. Among Internet users, comments have multiplied, especially of those who are asking what lies behind the opening of this luxury hotel after the archaeological sites of the city were burned to the ground. The Nineveh Oberoi was born in 1986 and in 2003 during the US war in Iraq, it had been completely looted, then before returning to its original function, was used by US forces as temporary headquarters. Since the arrival of the men al Baghdadi until May 1st the Hotel was in disuse, a symbol of the invasion of the Caliphate.
