Once again, Mohammed cartoons are the spark for the Islamic terrorism. This time it is in Dallas, Texas, in the States. Two armed men shot during a competition of cartoons dedicated to the Prophet, they shot an officer in the leg. The Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, attended the event in honor of freedom of expression; he is known for his anti-Islam position. CNN reported that the two attackers tweeted about their loyalty to the Islamic State just a few hours before the assault. “No expression, even if it is offensive, can justify an act of violence,” affirmed Josh Earnest, spokesperson of the White House.
“May Allah accept us as mujahidin” tweeted one of the attackers who was identified by FBI. He is Elton Simpson, he is from Phoenix, Arizona. In the past he was investigated because of connections to terrorism, federal officers are now searching his house.
According to the first reconstructions, the attackers reached the Culwell Event Center, a little while before the end of the event; they braced their rifles and shot security agents. Police officers responded to the attack and killed the attackers; artificer squads arrived immediately and patrolled the area searching for bombs.
