“I grew up with the piano. I learned its language as I learned to speak”. This is a quote of the great American pianist, Keith Jarrett. For his 70th birthday on May 8th, he chose to give his fans 2 new albums. “Creation” is a collection of the best live performances of the last year in Japan, Canada and Europe. “Barber/Bartok/Jarrett” celebrates two great composers, Samuel Barber and Bela Bartok.
On May 18th, he will be in San Carlo, Naples. This is the only concert of a great jazz musician in Italy: “I am thrilled to play again in this magnificent theater and with its amazing audience,” said Jarrett, who broke every rule and went beyond blues, gospel, classic and ethnic music and he had the heritage of his collaborations with Art Blakey, Charles Lloyd and Miles Davis.
The American composer will be on stage in Naples recalling his performance in 2009: “During my last concert in Naples – said the musician – people was respectful and silent, they were able to be enthusiastic and yet absorbed. That unique atmosphere can still transform my music in a miracle”.
