Disembarkation is continuing in the south of Italy, and new problems and debates are starting. “I cannot bear this situation anymore,” says Giuseppe Geraci, mayor of Corigliano Calabro. This morning another boat arrived with 110 migrants, at the same time a boat with 200 migrants arrived in Messina.
236 people arrived in Sicily, among them pregnant women and children. Officers and doctors are working with the attorney to take care of them. It was necessary to drive some of the migrants in other cities. The attorney explained that some would stay in Messina and others will be led in the north of Italy. Nevertheless, the situation is serious on the island, where 50% of migrants are taking shelter. The Head of the Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Interior said, “If every city cooperated we could send some of them in every city, and the social impact would be moderate”.
Meanwhile a boat with 110 people arrived. “This is the third boat, we cannot bear it anymore” said the mayor to Sky TG24, he also expressed his disappointment in a letter to the Head of the state “We also have – he wrote – the problem of unaccompanied minors. We cannot assure this assistance anymore”
