Italian authorities, Carabinieri, arrested him as he was trying to escape by motorbike. This morning, this man shot four or five times in a room on the fourth floor in the Court of Milan, where there was a trial for bankruptcy fraud. The indicted, Claudio Giardiello was the one who shot.
According to the first reconstructions, Giardiello was in the audience, as a person was testifying, a debate started. At that moment he stood and took his gun, he shot and killed the lawyer Lorenzo Alberto Claris Appiani and he wounded another person. Then he went downstairs and looked for the office of the judge Fernando Ciampi, he shot again and killed the magistrate.
He hid in the court for more than one hour, as security forces evacuated the building, women and wounded were the first to go out. Giardiello escaped on a motorbike, but he was arrested 30 km away from the court. Besides the judge and the lawyer, rescuers found a third body, there are no signs of violence on his body and he could have died for a stroke. Moreover, one of the wounded people who was brought to the hospital died too.
Claudio Giardiello, 57, worked in construction industry and he had many agencies. Lately, he had some economic difficulties and he had to face some judiciary causes.
