A punch knocked her down. Probably, when she chose to be a hostess she did not picture this scenario, it appears that she was too slow in giving the passenger a sandwich. This forced the EasyJet flight to an emergency landing in Rome Fiumicino. The flight took off from Geneva and was heading to Pristina in Kosovo, 183 people were onboard. The accident happened yesterday morning, it was announced by the British press and a spokesperson of the low-cost company confirmed it. The passenger, 41, was from Kosovo. An eyewitness said the man hit the hostess because he waited too much for huis sandwich. The other passengers stood up against the man that continued hitting the poor hostess who was already on the ground.
After the aircraft landed, the man was arrested and then Italian officers released him; the woman was properly taken care of by doctors. The man was denounced for private violence; he presented a medical certificate and declared he suffered from epilepsy and that he needed to eat something before the fixed hour in order to take his medicine. Nevertheless, the hostess did not listen to her, he got nervous because of the behavior of the crew and he started a discussion that led to the aggression.
Fortunately, the woman was not severely injured; the same does not go for her glasses that are in pieces. She declared, “I was totally shocked. I do not understand how someone can react like that for a sandwich”.
Anyways, in the afternoon, the other 180 passengers reached Prisina with a different flight. “Security for passengers and crew is a priority for EasyJet – said the company – although these accidents are rare we do take them into account and we do not stand this behavior onboard”.
