It took 18 months of negotiations and 8 days of full immersion for Iran and the 5+1 (USA, China, Russia, France, England and Germany) with Federica Mogherini (head of EU diplomacy) as mediator to reach an agreement on nuclear. This was written by the Turkish agency Anadolu quoting diplomatic sources. EU and Iran announced it yesterday at every conference. First, they chose to monitor Iran for the next 10 years. During these years, the amount of enriched uranium should be reduced by 2/3. The majority of the Iranian enriched uranium is going to be diluted or sent abroad. Iran is keeping 6 thousand out of nineteen thousand centrifuges. According to Aracqui – Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs – mentioned by Fars, the most controversial points concern sanctions and the possibility for Iran to make progresses on research and development, whereas the head of the atomic agency of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, was positive about the meeting saying “it will soon be dawning”.
Anyways, Federica Mogherini – Head of the EU diplomacy and coordinator of the negotiations, announced ‘good news’ at the end of the eighth day of meeting, before the press conference. “Today we reached new solutions on key parameters. We will immediately start working until June 30” stated the Iranian President, Hassan Rohani.
The UK newspaper, The Guardian, mentioned European diplomats and warned that it may be possible that just some points of the agreement were made public, whereas other parameters arte kept secret in view of a definitive agreement in June. The American press states that many progresses were made and it is possible to continue negotiations until June 30, which was the date set for the formalization of the nuclear program in Iran.
